F.I.R.S.T. is an acronym for the Family Institute of Readiness and Spiritual Training. This ‘institute’ is made up of study groups designed to grow church members and attenders in their knowledge of God’s Word and provide them with Christian life skills. F.I.R.S.T. will build Kingdom leaders and equip believers to serve by engaging them in a way that moves them toward spiritual transformation through short-term, self-contained training in an atmosphere of accountability to God and to one another. |
SMALL GROUPS and F.I.R.S.T.
While our church’s small groups exist to reach people and put them into relationships, F.I.R.S.T. study groups are designed to equip believers for Kingdom ministry. Here’s the difference:| SMALL GROUPS | FIRST STUDY GROUPS |

F.I.R.S.T. study groups will be incubators that begin with believers who are eager to learn how to put their faith into practice and share it with others. The focus of the F.I.R.S.T. study groups will be training, their context will be discipling, and their intent will be to move participants on to the next level of Christian experience and commitment. F.I.R.S.T. study groups will help make the transition from discipled to discipler.
Four Core Areas of Focus for F.I.R.S.T. Study Groups
