What Is the Gospel?

The word 'Gospel' means 'Good News.' And here's the good news: God, the Creator of life itself, loves you. The Gospel story of God's love and holiness is proclaimed throughout the Bible. Here is that story in a condensed version:

GOD is our Creator and has creator rights over us.

• "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." Genesis 1:27, NKJV
• "For it is written: 'As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.' So then each of us shall give account of himself to God." Romans 14:11-12, NKJV

MAN has sinned and deserves to be punished.

• "Therefore, just as through one man [Adam] sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned ... ." Romans 5:12, NKJV
• "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23, NKJV

CHRIST is the only solution to man's sin. Jesus died in our place and rose again.

• "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8, NKJV
• "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit." 1 Peter 3:18, NKJV

RESPONSE? You can be included in this salvation. Repent and believe.

• "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out." Acts 3:19, NKJV
• "... if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9, NKJV
